Boutique Hotels Vietnam?

Can anyone suggest a district in Vietnam with Boutique Hotels , Art Galleries and Great Food , but not a big tourist trap ???Boutique Hotels Vietnam?
The Duxton Hotel in Saigon is great!

And - really cool - Phu Quoc Island - Mango Bay resort - this is really a hide away, used my many expats to leave the city and spend a couple of days in paradies!Rates are from US$40-60 incl. BF, prices in the restaurant are really low and nice food!Boutique Hotels Vietnam?
To tell you the truth nowhere in Vietnam is THAT touristy. Ha Long bay was the only place where I felt really surrounded by tourists. Also, if you want to stay at a clean and safe place it's probably best that you stay in a nicer, more touristy hotel. I highly recommend the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and the Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi. They're on the expensive side, for Vietnam, but still really not that bad in terms of American or European currency.

Oh, and also, as far as the great food, you have to be pretty careful where you eat in Vietnam. Stay away from ice and fresh fruits/vegetables unless they are washed in bottled water. If you want good, safe food you'll have to go to the nicer, and once again, more touristy, restaurants!
Anywhere in the world, boutique hotels + art galleries + great food = tourists finding the place interesting. Then the trap is laid.

Having said that, Dong Koi which is the tourist district in HCM, is still inexpensive. The bargains are in the market near New World Hotel, in a place called Ben Tanh. Yes, they have paintings and other objets d art there as well.
There are Boutique Hotels and great food all over Vietnam.

Every large city has Art Galleries. As far as tourist traps go I also say Halong Harbour, loads of tourists. Cheers
