Best boutique hotel in all of Hawaii?

My partner and I have to attend a wedding in Kauai in June. Hawaii is not our favorite place. Every year we go to La Palmilla (http://oneandonlyresorts.com) for our vacaction, but this year, that budget will go to the wedding in Hawaii.





We are looking for an exclusive boutique hotel in Hawaii (any island) that mirrors the quality of La Palmilla. We're hoping to *not* stay at a Four Seasons or Ritz Carton chain, but something more special and intimate.





We would love any guidance.

Hana Hotel on Maui. It's a high end hotel in a gorgeous setting along the Hana coast. It's frequently recognized for its spa, setting, and service by magazines like Conde Nast, Travel + Leisure, etc. It's a place for discerning travelers. You might even see a celebrity there.

The Lodge at Koele or the Manele Bay Resort on Lanai might be just what you are looking for. They are small, upscale, %26amp; on an island that has little tourism or development.
