What is a 'boutique hotel'?

Boutique hotels generally have high quality and stylish rooms, often with a theme, always luxurious and cutting edge in it's own unique way. Though they can be small as just a few rooms, they can also have hundreds of rooms in major urban locations. Mostly not affiliated with chains and often ran by a family or small staffs, their popularity have spawned a popular chain of larger boutique hotels called ';W Hotels'; or simply ';W';.

Sometimes confused with but not to different than a Bed and Breakfast, boutique hotels should always provide superior and very personalized service. Emphasis is on trendy luxury in guest rooms and bathrooms.

Two cities very famous for their boutique hotels are San Francisco and London. Expect rates to be high, but you can generally negotiate rates at smaller boutique hotels during slow periods. What is a 'boutique hotel'?
It is a smaller hotel that will give you more personalized service than say a huge chain like Sheraton or Hilton.

What is a 'boutique' hotel?

Boutique hotels are typically smaller, and has been mentioned, aim for a ';quirky'; look and feel. If all of the rooms in a chain hotel look alike from location to location, it's just the opposite in a boutique hotel.

They often have higher prices--sometimes extremely higher prices--depending on the hotel and the location.

Here's what the wikipedia has to say:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boutique_ho鈥?/a>What is a 'boutique' hotel?
The host and guests are accommodated in the same building and the host has a separate individual living area from the guests.

Boutique hotels (which are often off-beat or ';quirky';) differentiate themselves from larger chain/branded hotels and motels by providing personalized accommodation and services / facilities. What is a 'boutique' hotel?
A boutique hotel is an expensive hotel. It's like the Bellagio in Vegas.. very high class and has expensive designer shops in it.
probaly a fantsy hotel with lots of hats lol lmao lmfao

they have those near where I live in East Greenwich, RI. I'm sure they're everywhere. they are very small, expensive hold-overs from back in the day when people wore fedora hats and said things like, ';dame';, and ';down to the hoosegow with you!';. they are expensive places that rich people go to- I assume the accommodations are excellent. What is a 'boutique hotel'?
Fancy.
A trendy hotel with Oriental ';Room Service';...
IT IS A HOTEL THAT CATERS TO AN UPSCALE AND DEFINITELY RICH CLIENTELE AND OFFERS ALOT OF EXTRAS IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT .
A small, independent (as in not a chain) but trendy hotel.
They are smaller than then the chain hotels like the Hyatt or Hilton. I think that they also have fewer than 100 rooms and try to cater to a certain group of people like young hip business travelers

Are there any frequent guest programs for independent or boutique hotels?

I travel a lot for work and am burned out on the Marriott-Hilton-Hyatt scene. I have recently started seeking out mid-scale and upscale boutique hotels (like the Algonquin in NYC or the Metropolitan in Toronto) and I really enjoy the character you get at places like those. But I miss my free nights. Is there a network or frequent traveller program that focuses on smaller, boutique hotels? I know some or most of the smaller chains have their own programs; I'm looking for a program that gives me a lot of variety/choices in hotels and still allows me to get rewards.

I travel primarily in the US with about 3 trips a year to Canada; mainly on the East Coast but some West Coast travel; hotels themselves should be priced similar to an area Marriott/Courtyard/Hilton/Embassy Suites or else work won't pay.

Thanks in advance! Are there any frequent guest programs for independent or boutique hotels?

  • How are boutique hotels different from service apartments?

Both are personalised accomodation.. and involve common facilities like a common dining hall, maid services etc.. also common decor .. soem boutique hotels are owned by coporate houses for use as guest houses for their own clients/employees ......so is there any difference? Is it just abt short stay versus long stay, or is there anything else?

Do they both have help desks and lobbies? How are boutique hotels different from service apartments?
Boutique .......small, compact hotels. Usually they are rated from one to three star.

100 rooms seems to be the upper limit .

Service quality, the cleanliness and the hygienic conditions are significantly good in these pretty hotels. Mainly situated near sea, hills

Service apartments for long stay and frequent travellers

They offer all the conveniences of a hotel with the privacy and warmth of home. Whether you are a business traveler or holiday maker looking for more than just a regular hotel room, a serviced apartment is the answer. Giving you more space, more privacy and at a cheaper rate, most of our Apartments are available from one night to one year.

Fully Furnished and serviced apartments with facilities like, A/c Double bedrooms, Internet, ISD, Ctv, Fully equiped kitchen, 24hrs running hot water, 24hrs house Keeping and power backup. How are boutique hotels different from service apartments?
    there are so meany difference
The fundamental difference is that a Boutiqe hotel is not part of a franchise or hotel chain.

Now, this could apply with serviced apartments also, unless they were part of a chain. The serviced apartments could be privately owned

With serviced apartments, you have a kitchen and your own cooking facilities if you wish to do so. It is more like an apartment. So therefore more suited to long stay.

A hotel room will not have this kitchenette facility.

Both are serviced in as much as linen and towels are changed, and the rooms are cleaned daily.

Both will have lobbies, althought the desk of the apartments (depending on where you stay) may not be manned after hours and will be lacking a night duty manager or night auditor that usually man the front office of a hotel.

In some cases, when staying in serviced apartments, if you are a late arrival, you collect your key from a safe outside the door using a pre-arranged pin code.
The difference between a boutique hotel and a normal hotel is that a boutique hotel is unique in terms of its theme, decor, etc as opposed to normal chain hotels which always have the same kind of basic decors. Like a Best Western or a Holiday Inn will look pretty much the same everywhere else in the world. As for the difference between a service apartment and a boutique hotel is that normally service apartment are just that....apartments and almost all of them have kitchens/kitcehnnetes where you can cook

    What is a boutique hotel?

Are boutique hotels different from regular ones and are they rated as in 1 star , 5 star etc? What is a boutique hotel?
Boutique hotel is a term originating in North America to describe intimate, usually luxurious or quirky hotel environments. Boutique hotels differentiate themselves from larger chain/branded hotels and motels by providing personalized level accommodation and services / facilities.

Sometimes known as ';design hotels'; or ';lifestyle hotels,'; boutique hotels began in the 1980s in major cities like New York, London, and San Francisco. Very often it is the Morgans Hotel in Murray Hill of New York, that is awarded with the title of first boutique hotel in the world. It was opened by Ian Schrager in 1984 according to design of Andr茅e Putnam.

Typically boutique hotels are furnished in a themed, stylish and/or aspirational manner. Although usually considerably smaller than a mainstream hotel (often ranging from 3 to 100 guest rooms), boutique hotels can often have hundreds of rooms in major cities. Guest rooms and suites are fitted with telephony and Wi-Fi Internet, air-conditioning, honesty bars and often cable/pay TV. Guest services are attended to by 24 hour hotel staff. Many boutique hotels have on-site dining facilities, and the majority offer bars and lounges which may also be open to the general public.

Despite this definition, the popularity of the boutique term and concept has lead to some confusion about the term. Boutique hotels have typically been unique properties operated by individials or companies with a small collection. However, their successes have prompted established multi-national hotel companies to establish their own brands. The most notable is Starwood Hotels and Resorts' W Hotels.

Currently, there is one publication dedicated to the boutique hotel, boutique DESIGN magazine, which is published quarterly. Boutique hotel resources are more commonly available online and there are a number of sytlized design and coffee table books highlighting various properties throughout the world. What is a boutique hotel?

    I have questions...

1.Will you spend more to stay in boutique hotel other than big hotel?

2, Do you have boutique hotel in your city? What is your evaluation?

3, What is your dream hotel? What service you ware looking for? Use your imagination...

    Thank you for answer.Boutique Hotel?
I would spend more money to stay in a boutique hotel if I enjoyed the amenities and they had good service. I love Pacific Terrace, a small boutique hotel in Pacific Beach. It has a great location...excellent service....and the rooms are quite nice. I've stayed there 3 or 4 times and will go back again.

I enjoy hotels with a good location...something to do in the area when I want to leave the hotel....pleasant surroundings....a nice breakfast at the hotel....and an evening cocktail/appetizer hour is a big plus as well. Friendly hosts who make me feel welcome will also make me want to return again.Boutique Hotel?

Of the total travel market a small percentage are discerning travelers, who place a high importance on privacy, luxury and service delivery. Boutique Hotels are hotels not run by major chains. Usually they have a bit more personality to them than the ones run by larger companies. There's a fantastic boutique hotel in Delhi called Manor Hotel. I stayed there for about a week when I was working in Delhi once. The address there is 77 Friends Colony (West), New Delhi. I don't know of any others in India or the rest of Asia, but I'm sure some exist. Actually, now that I think about it, I remember that Manor had a book on Boutique Hotels that it was featured in. Maybe you could search on Amazon for that keyword.

    Boutique Hotels Vietnam?

Can anyone suggest a district in Vietnam with Boutique Hotels , Art Galleries and Great Food , but not a big tourist trap ???Boutique Hotels Vietnam?
The Duxton Hotel in Saigon is great!

And - really cool - Phu Quoc Island - Mango Bay resort - this is really a hide away, used my many expats to leave the city and spend a couple of days in paradies!Rates are from US$40-60 incl. BF, prices in the restaurant are really low and nice food!Boutique Hotels Vietnam?
To tell you the truth nowhere in Vietnam is THAT touristy. Ha Long bay was the only place where I felt really surrounded by tourists. Also, if you want to stay at a clean and safe place it's probably best that you stay in a nicer, more touristy hotel. I highly recommend the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and the Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi. They're on the expensive side, for Vietnam, but still really not that bad in terms of American or European currency.

Oh, and also, as far as the great food, you have to be pretty careful where you eat in Vietnam. Stay away from ice and fresh fruits/vegetables unless they are washed in bottled water. If you want good, safe food you'll have to go to the nicer, and once again, more touristy, restaurants!
Anywhere in the world, boutique hotels + art galleries + great food = tourists finding the place interesting. Then the trap is laid.

Having said that, Dong Koi which is the tourist district in HCM, is still inexpensive. The bargains are in the market near New World Hotel, in a place called Ben Tanh. Yes, they have paintings and other objets d art there as well.
There are Boutique Hotels and great food all over Vietnam.

Every large city has Art Galleries. As far as tourist traps go I also say Halong Harbour, loads of tourists. Cheers

Going to Corsica the 22/29 of August. Where do you recommend staying? Romantic boutique hotels a plus!?

It really depends on where you plan to stay. If you are to visit mostly the cities (Ajaccio, Bastia), staying in hotels may be fine.

But I would strongly recommend to try to find self catering accomodation or a bed and breakfast.

These have several advantages on hotels:

    - they are generally of a better value. A very good B%26amp;B will be priced as an average hotel room

    - being with the locals. Corsica is an island of many small villages where there are no hotels. A B%26amp;B in such a village will be far quieter and have more charm than a hotel in Ajaccio.

The one disadvantage, especially as you are planning your trip late, is that self catering appartments and Bed and Breakfast are generally quite crowded in Summer and that they adjust their prices accordingly. You may have to search a long time to find a room.

Check out the Gites de France website for Corsica

http://www.gites-corsica.com/Going to Corsica the 22/29 of August. Where do you recommend staying? Romantic boutique hotels a plus!?
It's a wonderful choise.Corsica is named ';The island of beauty'; and is really gorgeous there.I suggest you hotel Fesh just in the centre of Ajaccio (the capital of the island) and from here during a week you will see a lot of beauties.Trust me, it will be a very nice trip and I'll expect your oppinion after your return.Bon voyage!

    Lucky girl!

I went to Paris in 2004 and stayed at www.hotel-britannique.com. I am going again in Oct of 2009. I just checked the rates and they are a little pricey but.....LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. It's 1/2 block from a metro station, right around the corner from the river. It's 2 1/2 blocks from the Louve and a couple blocks walk over the bridge to Notre Dame. There is a beautiful park right across the street from the front entrance to the Louve that has a Ferris wheel. Take a ride and you will get great views of Paris. The park as little cafes and is a great place to take a break. You must go to Versailles and have lunch or tea in the gardens and see the fountains. You'll feel like Marie Antoinette. You can even take a carriage ride through the gardens and wave at all the little people. The Seine river has a water taxi that stops at 6 or seven locations like the Eiffel Tower and you can buy a day pass and get on and off as much as you like. Dinner on the water is really nice especially at night when you pass by the Tower. The Eiffel Tower has a well known resturant, I don't remember the name. Check it out on the web. The food is suppose to be unreal. Also, look at the Frommer's Paris website. Lots of good ideas. The Moulin Rouge I hear is a great show but make sure you research my ideas if they should sound interesting to you as most of these places are very busy and require reservations way in advance. Of cource there is always Euro Disney which is just a short trip about 30 mins by metro right up to the gates. It might seem like a long ways to go just to go to Disneyland but the Park is really beautiful and has a lot of unique twists that make it well worth seeing. When I went in 2004 I only had 3 and a half days and I went to Notre Dame, The Louve, Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Princess Diana's memorial site, Euro Disney, the water taxi tour, Champs-脡lys茅es and shopping. Good luck and have a wonderful time. Let me know how your trip goes!

New York City boutique hotels under $350 per night in October?

I'm looking for suggestions about which hotel my wife and I should stay at in NY city during the second week of October. We don't want to spend more than $300-$350 per night, less if possible, but we want high quality.

    Try this also.
Give this one a shot. Great location and very interesting design.

I was going to suggest 60 Thompson Street boutique. Hard to get a reservation in some of these places for the fall.

Good luck, they are turning many great boutique hotels in Manhattan into condos.
try the ';New Yorker';, next to Madison Square Garden, 4 Blocks from Empire, 3 Blocks from Macys. The Hotel is at 37.Street. You get a room starting with 130 $ and the comfort will be excelent.

  • What are the best boutique hotels in Israel?

The Dan Hotels--including the King David.

    Simply awesome.

http://www.danhotels.com/eng/What are the best boutique hotels in Israel?
i agree with the second answer that the dan hotel is an excellent top class hotel, but its a chain of hotels in israel and is not a boutique hotel.and neither is the king david hotel

the top boutique hotels in israel are

the olive tree hotel in jerusalem is great

also in jerusalem u get the american colony hotel

holy israel boutique hotel (On top of Mt Canaan above the holy city of Safed you can find a splendid place, warm european ambiance. )

in tel aviv a good boutique hotel is the cinema boutique hotel.

mizpe hayamim is a great boutique hotel in rosh pinaWhat are the best boutique hotels in Israel?
I believe that boutique hotels offer a better experience than large chain hotels, like Dan hotel. From my point of view, the American Colony Hotel is not only the best boutique hotel in Jerusalem, but also one of the top boutique hotels in the Middle East.

Mitzpe Hayamim, in the north of Israel, is another great Israeli boutique hotel. Overlooking the golan heights and the sea of galilee, the hotel is located in a middle of fruit groves, herb and vegetable gardens.

In Tel Aviv, I prefer to stay in Cinema hotel or Center hotel. Those two beautiful boutique hotels are located at the heart of Tel Aviv on Dizengoff Circle.
I don't know from personal experience, can't afford to stay in them.
I can recommend you on Zimmers, these are simly rooms for rent, usually made of wood, some of them have jaccuzzis inside, they're luxurious and beautiful.

most of them are in the north or south of israel, so if you're gonna stay in the center you should go for regular hotels (and yes, the Dan hotels are wonderful!)

Does anyone know of a nice cheap hostel, B&B, boutique hotel in Rome?

Okay, a friend and I plan to go to Rome soon, I'm not exactly sure when, but soon. And we need somewhere to stay, somewhere that's not with anyone on this website, thanks, that's very sweet, but I've seen enough reports on the news to know to say no now, also somewhere that's not on a park bench. My dream place is, somewhere in the arts district, close to a bus stop, that is at least semi clean, I mean I don't want to wake up covered in bugs, a fan in the room, a shower and toilet, with internet connection, at an ';Oh my gosh, this place should charge, like, three times more'; price. But, a place with shower and toilet, internet connection, semi clean, cheaply priced place near a subway entrance, would still be awesome. I know I'm asking a lot, but I know someone on hear must have stayed cheaply in Rome sometime. Thanks.Does anyone know of a nice cheap hostel, B%26amp;B, boutique hotel in Rome?

This place will probably be right up your alley! It's called The Beehive and it's run by an American couple and caters mostly to American students. Costs about E25/night for a dorm, E80/night for a private room. It's pretty much other side of town from Travastere which isn't that great for you for location, but it's only 5 minutes from Termini Train Station.

It definitely didn't have the personality you find in most hostels, but I was there in the off-season so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. It's absolutely spotless, great decor, very modern, and excellent price.Does anyone know of a nice cleap Hostel, B%26amp;B, boutique hotel in Rome?
Get to Termini and just walk around. You cab 'pop' in and out of places to see what they charge. I stayed at a pretty cute place that was a couple of blocks from Termini. It was pretty cheap and safe.

Everything in Rome is pretty close. From the Termini to the Vatican...you can walk pretty much anywhere if it's not rainy.
Get hold of a tour operator in Rome who would give what you want You can try the tourist board of some official agency in that country, maybe even the Italian Embassy

Irish. Prefer the George purely for its locality, its more central, if that's what your looking for, but for something more ';romantic'; I'd go with the Clarion, views of the Shannon, riverside meals etc. Be sure to ask them about their room rates, cos you can bargain the feckers down. International House Boutique Hotel for Jazz Fest?

Hello - This is a followup to my other question, but I have been looking into the International House for 4/26 - 5/4.... would it be a bad place to stay if we want to go to Jazz Fest on a few of the days? It says that it's on the edge of the French Quarter, but is it a ';good edge'; or a ';bad edge';. Thanks in advance!! My husband is a musician, so we'll also want to go to some jazz clubs in the evenings.International House Boutique Hotel for Jazz Fest?
The International House is in a good location in the Central Business District, and is about 2 blocks from the French Quarter.

The JazzFest site is at the Fairgrounds, which is about 2.5 miles from the International House Hotel.

The International House is very close to the pick-up point for the shuttle to the JazzFest, which is at the Sheraton Hotel on Canal Street: For specifics, go to http://www.nojazzfest.com/ and click on Info then FAQ, the the question ';How do I get to the Fairgrounds?';.International House Boutique Hotel for Jazz Fest?
The hotel itself is ok and the location is fine for the french quarter as long as you are heading toward the quarter. Although if you want to be a bit closer to the jazz fest and the jazz clubs you might want to consider staying on the opposite side of the quarter closer to Frenchman Street. Take a look at Maison DuBois. They are walkable to all the clubs and everything in the quarter. And only about a block or 2 from the Jazz Fest Shuttle stop. Have fun!

    Whats mean ';boutique hotel';?

what is diference betwen hotel %26amp; boutique hotelWhats mean ';boutique hotel';?

Boutique hotel resources are more commonly available online and there are a number of sytlized design and coffee table books highlighting various properties throughout the world.Whats mean ';boutique hotel';?

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
Read the same article: http://www.theitchmag.com/ - i've followed their link to Prague, and I'd defo stay 'At the Three Stroks' if I had the money. The Design %26amp; Style Hotel Neruda looks pretty good for 拢62 too though, and it's near the castle. have fun!!

Paris Boutique Hotels, I need suggestions for a stay on the left bank.?

I am going to Paris in July with my girlfriend and would like to stay in a boutique hotel, three or four stars on the left bank. I don’t want to spend more than €300 per night if possible. Anyone has experiences with small designer or contemporary trendy hotels in that area? Please share.

If you could also advise on a romantic restaurant, even if romantic might be suggestive somewhere you felt like you could have popped “The Question”:-)), maybe along the river or on the river? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Paris Boutique Hotels, I need suggestions for a stay on the left bank.?
The Hotel Left Bank St. Germain is what you are looking for. A lovely little 3 star (by the way, the French hotel star rating system only goes to three) http://www.paris-paris.com/hotel_left-ba…

Right next door is the Cafe Procope which is the oldest restaurant in Paris. It has been serving food in the same location since 1686. http://www.procope.com/

Le coupe chou is also a very cozy place. http://www.lecoupechou.com/index.php?PHP…

P.S. I am sure that at least one person will suggest the Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower. For the record, let me say I hate it but here is the website: http://www.lejulesverne-paris.com/Paris Boutique Hotels, I need suggestions for a stay on the left bank.?
the French hotel star rating goes to 5 but it is called 4 **** GL (Grand Luxe): Le Crillon, Le Ritz, Le Bristol, Plaza Athenee....

    Hi Regis

Paris is a great choice and I am sure you will love St Germain des Pres - Latin Quarter area. Staying at a contemporary boutique hotel will definitively enhance your Paris experience.

Bel Ami, Le Five and Le Bellechasse hotel mentioned here will all respond to your expectations in terms of style and price. On the other hand Montalembert hotel, even though it is a fantastic place, will exceed your price limit.

Bel Ami hotel has a relaxing ambience with earth and sky tones. I am sure your girlfriend will love Le Bellechasse hotel. It is designed by fashion designer Christian Lacroix, each room has a unique theme and is very colorful. The Five hotel is more on the modern art design style. It has the lowest rates of all mentioned here.

I will add to this list Le Walt hotel. It is a colorful contemporary boutique hotel with a romantic artistic touch and a dominant purple tone.

Whichever you choose make sure you have a look at the photos on the hotels official websites to see if the style suits your taste.

Once you have made your choice, you need to compare rates a little. What you can do is go to the search engines and run a search for “Paris boutique hotels”. You will find a number of booking websites specialized in this market segment. Compare their offers with what you can get if you book direct with the hotel. Don’t forget to check the hotel special offers, they can cut the bill significantly.

If you want to have a look at other places, this resource site has a comprehensive list of Paris boutique hotels sorted by area. It also indicates the official website for each hotel as well as a link for each to the Tripadvisor customer reviews, a time saver:

    http://paris-boutique-hotels.blogspot.com
    First of all, congratulations!!!

Does it have to be on the Left Bank? Near Place Vendome, in the poshest part of Paris, there is Hotel Costes, famous modern trendy lounge/club hotel.

The following will be what you are looking for on the left bank: Hotel Bel Ami, The Five Hotel, Hotel Montalembert, Hotel Le Bellechasse. These are all designer/trendy hotels... and all have websites.

Bigger hotels (palaces), not as modern or trendy, but among the world's most prestigious are George V (a Four Seasons hotel), the Plaza Athénée, the Ritz, the Royal Monceau, the Raphael, the Crillon.

The national French system actually goes from 0 stars to 4 stars, with a special category for ';palaces'; (4 stars luxury). The latter are also lobbying the government to add a 5 star category.

To ';pop the question';, as mentioned, the Jules Verne is famous: its new chef is Alain Ducasse, arguably the best chef in the world. I believe you now have to book around 2 months in advance. It is of course very expensive, and I wouldn't have recommended it a few months ago, as people paid for the view above all. But that has changed since Ducasse took over. There is also a smaller/cheaper restaurant on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower... check the tower's website.

You can also have dinner on the river, aboard a Bateau-Mouche. The food isn't as good, tbu the view can't be beaten. Another top restaurant with a view is La Tour d'Argent, very expensive, fairly good, with a killer view as well. Otherwise, the restaurant at the Ritz is a wow, is without a view, but is very chic.

For shows, the Lido, on the Champs-Elysées, is very touristic but is lots of fun. I believe you can even have a bateau-mouche/lido combo at some places.

  • Boutique hotel in Paris?

My husband and I will be in Paris for 1 night. He has never been before. Would like a hotel in 'the heart of the city' - where we can walk by all the sights in 2 days.

Prefer something smaller that people know and like.

I hear the St Germain area is nice??Boutique hotel in Paris?
When arriving in Paris late at night we searched for a hotel and whenever we spotted a hotel sign the one way system always defeated us. At last we saw the signs for Hotel de Ville and followed it ......which led us to the Town Hall!!

Paris is super, enjoy your stay. Sorry can not help you with accommodation as this was some years ago and we finally booked in at small hotel on the outskirts.Boutique hotel in Paris?
I have just the hotel for you. The Hotel Left Bank St. Germain is a little gem that is perfectly located. http://www.paris-paris.com/hotel_left-ba鈥?/a>
Hotel de la Bretonnerie in the 4th district.

It is a great safe lively area.

tell me about boutique hotel its service, facilities, aminities, staff, room rate, area, star, group everything about boutique hotelWhat is boutique hotel?
Typically a smaller non chain hotel. Agree with the old dude though, it is a marketing term usually used to make the hotel sound more unique or fancier than it really is.What is boutique hotel?
It is a marketing term, and there is no control over the use of the word. I've seen it used to describe wonderful charming places, but also used to describe dumps.
basically it's just a fancy way to charge you extra money...
Overcharge for a feather pillow. Ya, I don't know ....

    Cheap boutique hotel paris?

I'm looking for a average priced funky hotel in Paris for a couple of nights to celebrate an anniversary with my girlfriend. I want something with lots of charater that is fairly central.Cheap boutique hotel paris?
Cheap is a matter of opinion but the Ritz isn't cheap by anyone's definition except maybe Bill Gates.

The Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain Paris isn't funky but its rather nice for a couple seeking a bit of romance. website: http://www.paris-paris.com/hotel_left-ba鈥?/a>

The Hotel St. Andre des Artes (which is where I usually stay) is pleasantly funky and also cheap. website: http://www.123france.com/123/en/hotel.ph鈥?/a>

The Hotel Nesle is also definitely funky and again, quite cheap although fractionally more expensive than the St. Andre. website: http://www.hoteldenesleparis.com/Cheap boutique hotel paris?
You could try the Hotel d'Amour (just the name cracks me up) at 8, rue de Navarin, Paris 75009. They do not have a website, but if you google it you will find a few photos and comments.

It is situated in a quiet, nice French neighborhood which is within walking distance of Montmartre and the big shops on the bd Haussmann and is near the metro.

Rates are about 80-90 鈧?a night.

If not, you have the Hotel Eldorado... very funky and quirky!

Boutique Hotel - White Swan Inn in San Francisco - Romantic ? Safe ?

I'm preparing to book a King Deluxe room with fireplace at the White Swan Inn in San Francisco. It's located on Bush street between Taylor %26amp; Mason. Is this a good area? Does anyone know anything about the hotel? I really like the room and the reservations for September are going fast. It's for our HONEYMOON, so I want it to be romantic!! I'd love some feedback. Any suggestions that I can ask the hotel staff to do to make the night special (champagne, etc) ! Thanks :)Boutique Hotel - White Swan Inn in San Francisco - Romantic ? Safe ?
You will be in an old downtown SF residential/commercial neighborhood and it is about as safe as you can expect in a large city.

It's close to the theater district and not too far from the Tenderloin where there are street people. Generally those people won't bother you even if you pass them on the sidewalk -- they might be passed-out. Seriously, I used to work in the neighborhood and had no trouble. But then again, I wasn't walking around that area at night either.

The Tenderloin is ROUGHLY bordered by Mason, Market St, Van Ness Ave, Geary St. You'll notice some nice hotels are in the area I've described. If you walk around the Union Square area you should be OK. The downtown merchants have done everything they can to make sure it is safe for their visitors and customers. Also, don't walk through the Stockton tunnel to get to %26amp; from Chinatown. It's noisy and dirty. Instead, go over to Grant Ave. and walk into Chinatown that way during the day.

There is a lot of history there. Dashiell Hammett who wrote the Maltese Falcon once lived in an apartment building in the neighborhood near your hotel.

You seem to have a spirit of adventure. You will enjoy your stay in SF -- and the White Swan Inn.

    http://www.moderntimes.com/palace/falcon鈥?/a>

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Search?lc=en_鈥?/a>Boutique Hotel - White Swan Inn in San Francisco - Romantic ? Safe ?
I used to live on Sacramento Street (between Mason and Taylor). The White Swan is on the edge of Nob Hill, not far from Union Square. Bush is a one way street that takes morning traffic into the Financial District, so it can be congested. You're a short cab ride from everything in the downtown area, though.

One very San Francisco thing that you might enjoy is a show called ';Beach Blanket Babylon'; in North Beach. Nothing else like it...anywhere. Have fun.

P.S. You should be fine at the White Swan, but avoid the White Swallow. It's a gay bar...not that there's anything wrong with that.
They have a champagne package at the Swan so book it with reservations.

Be sure to tip well. I know it is your honeymoon but Hotel staff work on cash motivation. Have some 10's and 20's handy to make things run extra smooth.
I've stayed at the White Swan. It is romantic, a great place to spend your honeymoon.

Bush Street is quite safe, you will be on Nob Hill and close to Union Square, Chinatown and with easy public transportation options.

    Enjoy!

Yeah I've been there. It's quite a nice place by Canberra's standards. It's the sort of place that you'd go with some friends for a cocktail in the lounge or to listen to Jazz in the afternnon. I've never stayed there before so can't comment on the rooms but it seems to cater for a more mature clientele. It's in a really nice leafy area close to the centre of Canberra

I am traveling to Europe this winter and our first stop is Paris. Does anyone have any good suggestions on some nice small hotels that are not too expensive? The hotel group with the most boutique hotels in the Bay Area is Joie De Vivire Hospitality.

You will have no trouble finding a room in your range in thier collection.

They also have a cool free featurewhere they match you with a friendly local person who shares your interest to get you oriented in the city and takes you on a tour of an area of the city. This is called the Golden Gate Greeter program and is modeled after other greeter programs in Chicago and New York.

    your best bet...go to hotwire.com

you can get amazing deals there...just click on hotels and then do a search for San Francisco and choose what part of the city you want to stay in. You wont get to see the name of the hotel until you book your stay, but you can read a description...we've used Hotwire several time's fro Bay Area trips and have never been disappointed.
    Hi there

Try the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, the hotel is in a great location within close proximity to major attractions. The famous Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 and Union Square shopping are nearby. The Golden Gate Bridge and tranquil Marin County are a short drive away. Rates are around $119 per night.
Try the Kimptonhotels.com group - they have several hotels in San Francisco. The rack rate is more like $200-$250, but they have special deals all the time called ';hot dates'; or something like that.

Hotels in Rome - which would you choose? Boutique Hotel Trevi or Hotel Delle Nazione?

Both are in the same Trevi Fountain area - just wondering if anyone has stayed at either of these and what your thoughts are? thanksHotels in Rome - which would you choose? Boutique Hotel Trevi or Hotel Delle Nazione?
Both hotels are 4 stars.Boutique Hotel Trevi is a smaller hotel and 1 single for a night is Euro 100 and Hotel delle Nazioni is Euro 125. I prefer the first one. Check about both hotels with Venere website to read visitors reviewsHotels in Rome - which would you choose? Boutique Hotel Trevi or Hotel Delle Nazione?
I don't know the Nazionale at all but have stayed at the Trevi which is In a very good location and was a reasonable hotel, although some of the rooms are a bit small - but then they are in most hotels in Rome.

If you're looking for a good and reasonably priced hotel, have a look at the Hotel Gea :

    http://www.explore-italian-culture.com/c鈥?/a>

which is brilliant, good location, close to shops and lovely staff. If you want a bit more of a luxury hotel I'd recommend the Hotel Russie :

    http://www.explore-italian-culture.com/h鈥?/a>

which is very central but much more expensive.

Venere as a booking agent is very expensive but does have traveller reviews; the best agent I've found is Expedia - I have never been able to beat their prices and they also have traveller reviews.

Have a great time in Rome - it's a wonderful city.
Hotel Trevi has better customers evaluations.

Luxury Boutique Hotel under 10 rooms?

That's a real hard question, but use words like ';boutique'; on the web - it generally translates to the same thing.

These folks market what you are after, but no way do they have everything and the prices are more than you need to pay, even for luxury :

    Small Luxury Hotels : http://www.slh.com/

    Here's another one : http://www.greatsmallhotels.com

Another way, is to look for something specific might be to use this directory : http://www.cheaperhanhotels.com , but you may have to use a function like '; site:cheaperthanhotels.com boutique '; and put that into the search engine as your query . It sounds and looks a bit ';cheap';, butthe site sells many of the same hotels for a much better rate.

Hope this gives you some ideas. Best of luck.

What is a boutique hotel, Please?

Thanks in advanceWhat is a boutique hotel, Please?
It is something one associates with the USA and it is a term applied to small, individualistic hotels which can sometimes be quirky and even ';farfelu'; in nature. When you book a boutique hotel, you expect something out of the ordinary and it can be a way of apologising in advance for not offering the standard uniformity expected by many travellers. What is a boutique hotel, Please?
Yes, boutique hotel is a new form of hotel, born in the USA, these hotels are different from the normal chaines of hotels, they are generally small, quite luxurious, elegant, very confortable, with a service extremely meticulous and sometimes personalized.

  • What is a boutique hotel?

I'd say it's like a small B%26amp;B. You get breakfast, maybe lunch, and you're on your own for dinner. Really well decorated, and maybe even themes to the rooms. Like Victorian or country. It's usually self-owned instead of a corporation. What is a boutique hotel?
In England, it is an hotel that is not a chain, beautifully decorated to the owners taste and caters for your every whim.
A small hotel, ususally an older one that has been renovated, with quirky attributes and maybe some specialty shops.

I haven't used these places but I know where they are. The Tim Boutique is a practically brand new hotel. It is in a good location close to Pattaya 2nd Road which is a main street. Close to malls and movie theaters, restaurants, bars and street vendors. Short walk to Beach Road.

The Mercure is a little older but not bad. Your choice, if you are okay with the price. My choice would be the Tim Hotel only because it would be a little easier to utilize the cheap 10 baht baht bus transportation on Pattaya 2nd Road.

Keep in mind that hotels in Pattaya that are in the 500-600 baht range will have air, hot water, private toilet, cable TV. Maybe at around 800 baht they will have pools too!

Good luck.Has anyone stayed in tim boutique hotel or mercure hotel in pattaya thailand?
HI Look at the sunbeam hotel or the globetrotter they are a much better location , you want to be @ soi7 or 8 for the best location , everything in walking distance , you could try the pig %26amp; whistle in soi 7 the have room as well and the best breakfast in pattaya
Not stayed in either of them but I know the Mercure is a little out of the way of things in relation to get on the main road and could be bad at nights if you have a family.

I normally stay in www.sandyspringshotel.com but have a look at www.pattayaphotoguide.com to find out about location of each
I stayed at the Mecure about a year and a half ago, no complaints. The rooms were clean, good for the price and they had a decent breakfast. It is a few blocks back from the beach but they had a free shuttle that takes you down to near 2nd Rd. and runs continuously until very late. Nothing great, but not bad at all.
You may also want to look at Pattaya Bay Resort (close to 2nd road).

    ...and

Natural Beach Hotel which is right on Beach Road.

They have their own web sites.

Is there a stylish beach boutique hotel in the Canary Islands?

not that i know of. most of the traditional sunnay sand beaches have been taken up by the large hotels and mass toursits, but you can find beautiful, chic boutique hotels in the interiors of tenerife and Las Palmas for sure. You may be able to find beach-side hotels of the type you are looking for in Fuerteventura or Lanzarote. look it up on the web.Is there a stylish beach boutique hotel in the Canary Islands?

Is there a good boutique hotel in Spain for less than $100?

You have neglected to say where exactly in Spain you are thinking or spending time in. You can log onto sites such as expedia and I am not sure if lastminute.com has anything in Spain. But for cheap and usually rather good accommodation I would reccommend checking out what are called pensiones they range in quality and price but are for the most part quite comfortable and affordable. Is there a good boutique hotel in Spain for less than $100?
there aren't a whole lot of cheap hostales for much less than $100, anymore. Is there a good boutique hotel in Spain for less than $100?
